The purpose of the examination is to answer:
• What sort of problem is present, if any?
• When is the proper time for treatment?
• How much will the treatment cost?
• How long will the treatment take?
• What type of treatment is included
What’s next?
If orthodontic treatment is needed at this time, an appointment for additional Diagnostic Records is scheduled.
What is the cost of the initial examination?
As a courtesy, there is no professional fee for consultation.
2) Diagnostic Records Appointment
At the initial examination visit, clinical measurements of the patient are made. The diagnostic records provide us with information that is not available from a clinical exam and allow us to study the patient’s malocclusion in more detail.
How long will it take?
The records appointment will last approximately 45 minutes.
3) Regular Appointments
The appointment when you have your initial appliances applied (braces, expanders, headgear etc.) usually takes 60 to 90 minutes. You will then see us at regular intervals 4-6 weeks apart for adjustments (which take approximately 20-30 minutes).
Patients are seen by appointment only. Please call in advance so that we may reserve a time for you. We make every effort possible to be on time for our patients and ask that you extend the same courtesy. If you cannot keep a scheduled appointment, please provide our office with 24 hours notice. This courtesy, on your part, makes it possible for us to assign your appointment to another patient.
Our appointments are designed for patient convenience. During active orthodontic treatment, the patient is seen every four to six weeks. We strive to see you on time for each appointment so that we have plenty of time to do the customized treatment, and give the necessary information and answer your questions.
